Did you know it is proven that massage helps release stress?
The clients I see, typically struggle with:

Massage as part of your self-care routine.
When you are stressed, your body goes into fight or flight mode. Your heart rate & breathing increases, and your adrenal & sweat glands go into overdrive.
While these are normal reactions for your body to have for short periods of time, remaining in this state for too long places enormous strain on your mind & body. It can have damaging effects on your immune system and lead you to stress related illness.
So how do you come out of this state and calm your body? When we are looking after ourselves and have a good self care or stress management routine, we allow our bodies to relax and unwind, which slows our heart rate, decreased blood pressure & promotes energy storage, among other things.
Life has so much pressures and expectations of us these days that it is harder and harder to naturally relax enough for our bodies to get into the relaxed state. This is where our self-care routine is critical to our mental, physical and emotion well-being.
Massage therapy is a relaxing massage treatment where we focus on a specific problem, like neck & shoulder pain or general maintenance to help with and keep on top of stress.
Benefits of massage include helping you sleep better, increase concentration levels, reduce muscle tension, improve mental alertness, relieve sore muscles after physical exercise, improve your mood, relieve tension headaches and ease anxiety.
Massage has been proven to reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol. This improves your overall feeling of wellbeing and can reduce blood pressure.
Massage can also increase levels of the neurotransmitters serotonin & dopamine which is great for people suffering from depression.

Massage and how it helps you sleep.
While sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most healthy adults need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night to function at their best.
Sometimes however, a good night’s sleep seems impossible to attain. Whether that’s because of being kept up at night worrying about financial problems, a rocky relationship, other stressful issues or maybe short-term or chronic pain, there’s nothing quite so frustrating as watching the clock knowing you’ll have to start the coming day without nearly enough sleep.
Feeling sluggish or less than energetic during the day is bad enough, but insomnia can also reduce cognitive functions while increasing depression, anxiety and problems with memory. The ‘Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’ have declared that insufficient sleep is a public health epidemic. “Sleep insufficiency [is] linked to motor vehicle crashes, industrial disasters, and medical and other occupational errors.”
When you are deprived of deep sleep, certain kinds of pain chemicals are released, but that changes with any kind of massage, whether for insomnia or increased flexibility or greater relaxation. There is a release of serotonin, which is the body’s natural production of anti-pain chemicals. Massage is very effective at increasing deep sleep.
Not only will massage bring stress levels down, but it may also help ease pain. In fact, people with lower back pain have reported a decrease in pain and fewer sleep disturbances as a result of regular massage. This may be due to the fact that massage encourages more time spent in the deep, restorative stages of sleep, where your body hardly moves.
Other benefits of massage include improved posture, lower blood pressure, relaxed muscles, better circulation, a stronger immune system, relief of headaches and stress reduction along with being a fantastic way to finish off a stressful week. Massage forms an important part of your overall well-being rituals and routines, and you might even fall asleep during the treatment, but don’t worry we will not be offended if you do!

The holistic approach to health differs from the conventional medical approach in that it takes into account the whole patient rather than just focusing on the symptom or the part that has the problem.
Holistic therapists believe that the body has a vital force or life energy. It is this force that protects the body from disease and allows it to heal. We often refer to it as the “immune system”.
When the balance of the immune system is disturbed we see the various symptoms of disease.
Holistic therapies aim to help the patient restore the balance, thus allowing the body to heal itself naturally.
Hopi Ear Candling
A relaxing treatment which includes ear and facial massage & lymphatic drainage, leaving a sense of well-being and reduced pressure in the ears or head.
This non-invasive treatment can be done while fully clothed and takes approximately 45 minutes.
Hopi candle treatment has claimed many benefits including: Migraines & headaches, reduces susceptibility to ear infections, helps with ringing in ears, chronic sinusitis and catarrh, good for pre and during cold and flu symptoms and can help with hay fever.
What are Hopi Candles?
Hopi Ear Candles are hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs. When lit, the candle acts like a chimney, causing the warm air inside it to rise and creating a vacuum at the bottom. This vacuum gently stimulates the ear, facilitating removal of excess wax and impurities.
It is important to note that the candle does not suck wax out of the ear; it stimulates the ear to eliminate the wax naturally, ensuring maximum safety.

What our customers say…
I had a full body massage this morning and I still feel great. Kerri is fantastic, it was a very much needed massage and although there were some kinda sore bits (oh knots you are the worst!), she did what was needed. I’m looking forward to coming back.
After my full body massage on Thursday I had the best nights sleep in a very very long time. I cannot wait for my next massage. Thank you sooo much. XxxxxxEleanor Murray
